Trip Introduction

Annapurna Base Camp trek is one of the most popular treks in the Annapurna Sanctuary. It offers so much variety than most of the other trekking regions. The trek shows us many types of scenery that Nepal has to offer. There are spectacular views of the Annapurna 1, Fishtail, Annapurna south with ten peaks over 6000m. The trek to the base camp follows the Modi River and with the river, the mountains and the terraced farmland, it feels that with every turn is a new photo opportunity.  All of the Annapurna sanctuaries is now a conservation area project, this came into effect in 1986.

As we look to the north from Ghandruk and Landruk, we can see the Valley of Modi River. It is heading due north into an impossibly precipitous gorge between Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhare. Furthermore, up this narrow canyon lies the area we now call the Annapurna Sanctuary or (Annapurna Deuthali in Nepali). However, the trek to Annapurna Base Camp became popular after the long worked by Jimmy Roberts in 1956, with British Gurkha Troops.

The treks for Annapurna Base Camp starts and ends in the second largest and most beautiful city of Pokhara. Pokhara is set around Fewa Lake. Moreover, it has so many different sightseeing opportunities. It is the perfect place to relax and recharge the batteries after many days trekking.
